Casa das Pipas has 12 rooms (3 superior and 9 standard) and 4 rooms at Casa do Lagar (2 four bedroom and 2 standard).
All aboard on a traditional "rabelo" boat for a memorable and immersive experience. Enjoy the magnitude of the Douro landscapes moulded throughout the centuries by man, the terraces, the old vines, but also the mediterranean forest, the aquatic birds and the birds of prey like the "Milhafre" that populate along the river margins.
Enjoy a bicycle ride along the vineyards and explore the neighbour village of Celeirós
The best way to know and understand a region is by walking through it. Take a stroll around or vineyards and the wine villages that surround us, or hike up the mountains to enjoy the breathtaking landscapes from a viewpoint.
Select your basket and where you want to eat, in a viewpoint or even aboard a rabelo boat, and enjoy the contact with nature and the beauty of the landsape.
If you're into mountain biking, the Douro is where you want to ride. Most trails are quite challenging, but the landscapes are worth the effort.
BY CAR FROM PORTO
- Follow A4 direction Vila Real
- After passing Vila Real, get into A24 direction Viseu
- Leave A24 on exit 13 and follow towards Sabrosa
- When arriving in Sabrosa turn right direction Pinhão
- Quinta do Portal will be on your left, just after passing Celeirós do Douro
BY CAR FROM LISBON
- Follow A1 direction Norte
- Leave to A25 direction Viseu
- Leave to A24 direction Vila Real - Leave A24 on exit 13 and follow towards Sabrosa
- When arriving in Sabrosa turn right direction Pinhão
- Quinta do Portal will be on your left, just after passing Celeirós do Douro
BY BOAT
The boat trip up the river from Porto is an incredible experience.
To visit Quinta do Portal you shall dock the boat in Pinhão and then get on a 15 minute taxi ride to reach us.
BY TRAIN
This is definitely one of the most beautiful ways to get to the Douro wine region. Get on the "Linha do Douro" train in Porto and enjoy the landscape (you must seat on the right side of the train!) until you reach Pinhão, your final stop, where you must enjoy the beautiful tiles on the station.
Then just jump for a 15 minute taxi ride to Quinta do Portal.
